Evening AFC West news and notes

In an Insiders piece on ESPN.comInsider, Len Pasquarelli looked at the how Tim Tebow will fit in on Denver’s 45-man roster early in the season. Last week, Denver coach Josh McDaniels said he hasn’t made up his mind yet, but he is leaning toward keeping two quarterbacks active on the game-day 45-man roster.

I still get the feeling that Tebow will be part of the game-day mix no matter how it shakes out. Denver drafted him to use him, even if it’s in special packages in the early stages of his career.

A source close to JaMarcus Russell said the former Oakland quarterback has no plans to play in the UFL despite the efforts of the Omaha franchise. Russell is solely focused on getting a job in the NFL.

Chiefs safety Jarrad Page reportedly has asked to be traded. He is a restricted free agent who didn’t sign his tender by the deadline this week. The Chiefs have moved on from Page. He likely wouldn’t fetch much on the trade market.
