Second-year Oakland receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey reasons why the Raiders are better without the released JaMarcus Russell. Even guys who worked with Russell for just one year figured out that he needed to go. Wow.
  • The Football Outsiders believe it is risky for San Diego to rely too much on rookie running back Ryan Mathews. Still, that’s exactly what the Chargers plan to do.
  • Former Dallas left tackle Flozell Adams is visiting Pittsburgh. He visited Denver last month. If Denver really wants Adams, it will likely go after him before the Steelers can grab him. That appears unlikely.
