Broncos DE wins media honor

Denver Broncos defensive end Ebenezer Ekuban was honored by the Denver media Wednesday.

Ekuban was named the 2008 recipient of the Darrent Williams Good Guy Award.

The award was given for cooperation with the media. Ekuban has a reputation for being available for interviews nearly on a daily basis. Even after Denver's toughest losses, Ekuban is available to discuss the situation.

The award is named after Williams, the former Denver starting right cornerback. Williams was shot and killed in Denver after hosting a New Year's Eve party in the early hours of Jan. 1, 2007.

Williams was always an available, affable interview in his two years in Denver. I covered the Broncos during both of Williams' season and I never remember Williams turning down an interview request. His words were always provocative and expansive.

Last year, former Denver safety John Lynch won the first Darrent Williams Good Guy award.
