The Denver Post is reporting Denver Broncos star linebacker Elvis Dumervil is going to have the surgery to repair a torn pectoral muscle. The surgery will very likely will mean Dumervil will miss the entire season.
DumervilDumervil was injured Wednesday and the team initially hoped Dumervil would be back for a few games. Yet, that seemed like a long shot. Dumervil likely will not play in 2010. Denver had been operating under that assumption the past few days. Dumervil led the NFL with 17 sacks last season.
He will be replaced by Jarvis Moss and Robert Ayers, who are both former No.1 pick who have yet to develop. Moss broke his hand the day after Dumervil was hurt and he will miss two weeks.
