The site reports Page still wants to be traded and he hasn’t decided when he will join the team, but he likely won’t show up before next week. The team can start fining him each day if he doesn’t show.
It will be interesting to see how Kansas City reacts. With Page signed, it could take a way a spot on the 53-man roster. Kansas City has been operating without much worry that Page was not there. The team moved on with rookie satieties Eric Berry and Kendrick Lewis.
Kansas City could trade Page. But it will have to be a deal that makes sense for the team. General manager Scott Pioli will be very careful not to make this situation look like Page won. Pioli doesn’t want to send a message to players that they can hold out and get their way.
Because the Chiefs have already moved on without Page, this development will not put him in a position of strength.
