PITTSBURGH -- Halftime notes from Pittsburgh where the Steelers lead 14-10 thanks to a touchdown with 40 seconds to go in the half:

Santonio Holmes' punt return for a touchdown was the first punt return for a touchdown against San Diego in more than five years and the first punt return for a score against San Diego in the postseason since 1965.

Vincent Jackson's 41-yard touchdown catch in the first quarter ended his drought. He didn't have a catch against the Colts last week.

Snow flurries have fallen on and off but the field seems to be holding up decently.

San Diego quarterback Philip Rivers completed eight of his first nine pass attempts.

San Diego running back Darren Sproles has 11 of the team's 12 rush attempts. He has 15 yards on the ground. The bad weather and Pittsburgh's stout run defense is giving Sproles trouble as he replaces the injured LaDainian Tomlinson, who is out with a groin injury. Sproles had a combined 219 rushing yards in the past two games.

San Diego tight end Antonio Gates is playing well again despite a high and low ankle sprain on his right leg. He has five catches. He had eight catches last week.

San Diego cornerback Quentin Jammer and safety Eric Weddle are both having excellent games.

San Diego kicker Nate Kaeding showed no affects of a sore groin when he kicked a 42-yard field goal late in the second quarter. He was injured last week against the Colts and his practice time was affected leading up to Sunday's game.

There are already more points scored in the game that the 21 points scored when Pittsburgh beat San Diego 11-10 here Nov. 16.
