Here are some areas Denver needs to focus on after a 24-17 defeat at Jacksonville:

Recap: Denver played hard in the sweltering heat, but the Jaguars took the lead in the fourth quarter and held on for the win.

Biggest area to fix: Jacksonville quarterback David Garrard threw three touchdown passes, which was the difference in the game. Overall, Garrard didn’t overwhelm Denver, but the Broncos allowed the big pass play. They have to work on preventing the deadly big play from this point on.

Biggest area to build on: The passing offense. Kyle Orton had a nice game as he threw for 295 yards. Receivers Brandon Lloyd and Eddie Royal combined for 215 yards receiving. This passing game has the potential to be very good down the road. It showed Sunday that it can be a strength this season.

What to watch for: The Broncos have to be ready or they could fall to 0-2. Sunday’s home opener against Seattle doesn’t look like a freebie after the Seahawks’ 31-6 win over San Francisco. The Broncos have a tough upcoming schedule, so they really need this one.
