ESPN’s Chris Mortensen just reported that Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Charlie Weis underwent a gall bladder surgery on Monday.
Mortensen reported that Weis had been dealing with the issue since Friday, but he wanted to get through Sunday’s win over San Francisco. The Chiefs are 3-0 and much improved on offense in Weis’ first season.
The Chiefs have a bye this week, which will allow Weis time to recover.
Earlier in the day, Kansas City coach Todd Haley acknowledged that Weis had an undisclosed, non-life-threatening health issue.
