Here are some areas the Denver Broncos need to focus on after a 24-20 loss to the New York Jets:

Recap: The Broncos battled hard against the 5-1 Jets and probably should have won the game. Denver was called for a pass-interference penalty on fourth down with less than two minutes to go to keep the Jets’ hopes alive.

Biggest area to fix: learn to win. Denver is 2-4 and it could have easily won three of the four games it lost. Denver’s schedule is going to get easier and it needs to learn to finish games.

Biggest area to build on: the running game. It was not great by any means as it had 145 yards on 37 carries. But it was a big improvement for the league’s worst running team. With Knowshon Moreno regaining his health, perhaps Denver can find a spark on the ground to help its fine passing game.

What to watch for: Denver plays two manageable games before the bye. Their first is at home against Oakland (2-4) and then in London against San Francisco (1-5). The Broncos could be satisfied with a 4-4 record midway through the regular season.
