The Baltimore Ravens are interested in former San Diego linebacker Shawne Merriman if he clears waivers Wednesday. Here are some teams that could be interested in Merriman, either through waivers or free agency, including some AFC West competition. I think Denver could claim him. He'd fill a big role.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports the Raiders worked out former center Jake Grove. With starter Samson Satele often dealing with injuries, Grove would be an interesting addition in Oakland.

ESPN’s Trent Dilfer looks at a potential MVP candidacy by San Diego quarterback Philip Rivers. The Chargers are only 3-5, but Rivers has thrown for more yards than any quarterback in NFL history after eight games despite playing with a crew full of injured players.

The Broncos are off for their bye week. They will next practice Sunday in preparation for their Nov. 14 home game against Kansas City.
