It's been a head-spinning past couple of weeks in the AFC West.

There is no sign of the action slowing down, either. Here is a look at some of the potential stories to follow and what could occur in the days to come:

The LaDainian Tomlinson situation: The Chargers and their star running back have been talking for more than a week about a contract restructuring that would keep Tomlinson in San Diego. A conclusion could come early this week. This clearly has not been an easy process, but both sides appear focused on keeping Tomlinson in San Diego.

Cutler and Marshall aftermath: There is surely more to come out of the two major developments in Denver where Jay Cutler is upset to have his name mentioned in trade talks, and Brandon Marshall was arrested on Sunday which could result in a lengthy NFL suspension for the receiver.

The Javon Walker situation: The Raiders and the pricey receiver have been discussing a restructured contract that would keep him in Oakland. News could develop on this story this week.

Are the Chiefs going to start spending in free agency: Yes, the Chiefs made a big splash by acquiring quarterback Matt Cassel and linebacker Mike Vrabel in a trade with New England, but the team is still swimming in salary-cap room. The team has been quiet in free agency. Kansas City needs a ton of defensive help and with the top players getting gobbled up, the Chiefs need to start moving in free agency.
