A look at some key injury situations in the AFC West heading into Week 16:

As expected, San Diego tight end Antonio Gates is out for Sunday’s critical game in Cincinnati. The team hopes to gets Gates -- who will miss his fifth game of the past seven with a nagging foot injury -- back on the field if the Chargers make the playoffs.

Linebacker Stephen Cooper (knee) is also out. He will be replaced by Brandon Siler. Linebacker Larry English is questionable with a foot injury. He missed last week’s game with a foot injury.

Gates isn’t the only skill-position player San Diego will likely miss. Receivers Malcom Floyd (hamstring) and Patrick Crayton (wrist) are both doubtful. Floyd has been dealing with the injury for more than two months and Crayton, who is expected to play next week, has been out for a month. Vincent Jackson and Legedu Naanee are expected to be the starters for San Diego, which has had a depleted receiving crew all season. San Diego quarterback Philip Rivers has completed passes to 17 different players this season.

Oakland defensive lineman Richard Seymour will be a game-time decision Sunday against Indianapolis. He didn’t practice this week because of a hamstring injury. Not having Seymour play against Peyton Manning in a must-win game for the Raiders obviously wouldn’t be an ideal solution. That’s why the Raiders are going to wait as long as they can before deciding if Seymour can play or not. Matt Shaugnessy will take on a bigger role if Seymour can’t play.

Denver running back Knowshon Moreno is questionable with a ribs injury. He was limited the past two days of practice. Safety Brian Dawkins is questionable with a knee injury that has kept him out of the past few games. He was limited all week.

Kansas City rotational safety Donald Washington is out with an ankle injury. The Chiefs are otherwise healthy going into their big game against visiting Tennessee.
