Here are some areas the Denver Broncos need to focus on after a 24-23 win over the Houston Texans:

Recap: It took 15 games and the Broncos have long been eliminated from playoff consideration, but they got their season highlight. Denver came back from a 17-0 halftime deficit on the strength of rookie quarterback Tim Tebow. He threw for 308 yards and scored the game-winning touchdown on a 6-yard run in the final moments. Denver is now 4-11. It is on pace for the No. 2 draft pick, according to ESPN Stats & Information.

Biggest area to fix: slow start. You aren’t going to be able to overcome a 17-0 deficit every week. The Broncos need to make it easier on themselves and start faster.

Biggest area to build on: quarterback play. Tebow was decent in his first NFL start last week at Oakland. Yes, Houston has a bad defense, but Tebow looked very good in his second start. He is still not polished, but he is showing he can make plays at this level.

What to watch for: Can Tebow finish the season with two straight wins, further making his push to be the full-time starter in Denver in 2011? He’ll get his chance against a downtrodden San Diego team that will be playing for nothing but pride in the season finale.
