ENGLEWOOD, Colo. - Minutes after he completed his first draft as a head coach, Josh McDaniels was glowing about his new toy.

Even though his team needs major help on defense, McDaniels spent his first draft pick on his side of the ball. Still, McDaniels believes Knowshon Moreno will make a team-wide impact.

"He'll help everything," McDaniels said of the Georgia running back who Denver took at No. 12. "He'll help our quarterback, he'll help our entire offense and he'll help our defense."

McDaniels said he believes Moreno has few flaws and one of the most impressive things about him is that he is fearless.

"You are never going to see him run out of bounds," McDaniels said. "He is going to attack the defense."

McDaniels is already considering the idea of using Moreno as a kick returner to give him more opportunities to touch the ball.

"It could happen," McDaniels said. "He is explosive with the football."

In the end, Denver took six offensive players in its 10-player draft. Denver traded up four times. It traded up to get a cornerback, a quarterback, a tight end and a wide receiver.
