The "you pick it" winner this week was the Chiefs' trade of superstar tight end Tony Gonzalez to Atlanta. This was the right call. Legends don't get dealt every week.

The other candidates were Oakland bypassing Michael Crabtree over Darrius Heyward-Bey at No. 7 and Denver taking running back Knowshon Moreno at No. 12 and bypassing pressing defensive needs.

Below are some of your responses. Thanks to those who participated.

Matt from San Diego: Bill, I think your Story of the Week is pretty obviously the Gonzalez trade. "Raiders Reach for Fast Receiver" is not big news, and neither is "Denver Has Too Many RBs and No D." But guys like Tony G don't get traded all the time.

Aaron from Syracuse: No one really knows how Crabtree and Those rookies have never played a down in the NFL. The real story is giving up, statistically, the best Tight End to ever play the game, not getting a pick for this year's draft and not doing much to replace the 90+ catches, 1000+ yards and 10 TD's. Tony Gonzalez will do more for the Falcons in 2009 than any of those rookies. As soon as the trade was made, there was instant Falcons Playoff, Superbowl and #1 Offense talk.

Robby from Pensacola: It undoubtedly has to be the headline of Gonzalez being traded to the Falcons. Sure, DHB, Crabtree and Moreno might turn out to be good players, but we are talking about a shoe-in for the Hall of Fame being traded. It was a sad day in the life of Chiefs' fans when the news broke that he was actually traded. I think we all were holding out a little hope that he would finish his career in KC.

Parker from Boulder: Gonzo being gone over and done, its not the hot topic of the week. Now, between DHB and Moreno: As a Raiders fan I would like to say DHB, but given that this is not a huge surprise (It is Al Davis people), I would have to say the storyline of the week is Denver going offense early. First off you can basically consider this one of the picks for Cutler+a little more because it was a higher 1st round pick. Picking Knowshon is basically a move to reinvigorate an offense that has taken some hits, mainly Cutlers removal. If Knowshon doesn't do much better than any of their current RBs would have done (It is Denver's system still so he needs a higher YPC than they averaged last season), also he's had injury problems so if they slow his career down, than this is a huge misstep and begins to devalue the Cutler Trade. If he puts up several Pro-Bowl seasons, I am talking AP quality play, then he starts to make up for Cutler, but a ProBowl QB>ProBowl RB so they will still need to do will with either Orton or they 1st next draft. Also, this shows that McDaniels is not following the NE mold. Yes, he may be using some parts, but NE likes to use a lot of FA backs in a large rotation. Didn't he learn from Maroney?

Brian from Charleston, SC: TG to Atlanta. I know a lot of Chiefs fans are upset, but I'm not one of them. We got a 2nd round pick for him instead of nothing in another year, and he wasn't going to be the difference in going to the playoffs this year. He wanted to leave and we got something in return. I think in the end he will regret the trade more than the Chiefs. I don't believe Atlanta is on the verge of a Super Bowl like many others do. Ryan is due for the sophmore slump since defenses know what to expect and Michael Turner will begin to slow down with each hit he continues to take. There are no guarantees in the NFL and over the next 3-4 years, I think KC will have as good a chance as anyone to make a run. Should've stayed put Tony.

Toby from Corpus Christi: Bill, I'm a Bronco fan, but I have to say the biggest story was the Gonzalez trade. He's one of the best TE's to ever play the game and has been a fixture in the AFC West for a long time. I'm sad to see him go, but glad the Broncos don't have to worry about him moving the chains on third down for the Chiefs anymore........

Nick: The Raiders passing on Crabtree is the biggest story but while Crabtree may seem like a sure thing, the last time the Raiders drafted someone every analyst said was a sure thing was Robert Gallery. People kept saying that they made the smart move instead of the flashy move by drafting him over people like Fitzgerald and that Gallery would be a ten time pro-bowler.

Ben from Layton UT: Hi Bill - great blog as always! Here are my thoughts. On Gonzalez: Very big that he was traded. It's not only the end of an era in KC; why would you NOT want your new QB to have at least 1 reliable receiver? On Oakland Passing on Crabtree: I must admit I was hoping for Crabtree, however, Big Als' love for speed is always in the forefront...welcome to "James Jett II". On the Broncos going offense first: Go figure...I had thought they would go D-first as well; a RUNNING BACK? they have always had a knack for bringing in the "whomever shows up" kind-of back and being successfull... maybe they are truly rebuilding?

Greg from Sacramento: Bill- The story of the week has to be the Raiders passing on Crabtree. I have heard the explainations and read several articals about this and still don't understand why Oakland drafted the way they did. I watched a short film of Mike Mitchell and understand that pick, but Crabtree has too many upsides to pass on. Now, Oakland has to hope they were right because Crabtree will be staring them right in the face for about 10 years. Every time he scores a TD or makes an incredible catch it will be compared to every time DHB drops a pass or runs a bad route. The side by side comparisions will show up for the rest of their carreers. What I want to know is, will the critics change their view if DHB turns out to be the real deal? Will people get off their soap boxes about Al Davis being too old to make smart decisions about his team? I hope DHB becomes the player Oakland has been looking for in a reciever. If he does we will return to greatness and it will be Al Davis' Fault!! "Just win baby!!" Go Raiders!!
