The San Francisco Chronicle is reporting that the Raiders are considering signing running back Michael Pittman. He was with Denver last season.

The Raiders are also reportedly talking to veteran fullback Lorenzo Neal. It would be somewhat surprising if Oakland brought in both players, since they would fill similar roles.

Pittman was moved from tailback to fullback out of necessity last season. Oakland needs fullbacks more than running backs. Both Pittman and Neal are tough, fine blockers. Adding either one would help Oakland.

Former Oakland receiver Jerry Porter is working out for Baltimore. He had hoped to return to Oakland earlier this offseason, but the Raiders had no interest.

Some Oakland fans wanted the Raiders to sign Bay Area native Roy Williams. That hope is now dashed since Cincinnati has added the former Dallas safety.

The Raiders will hold their mandatory minicamp this weekend.
