A look at some AFC West headlines:
Here’s a suggestion that the Broncos may not be sold on quarterback Tim Tebow.
My take: There’s no question, this is a strange situation. Josh McDaniels picked Tebow and he is now gone. Now, the Broncos’ new brass has a high-price player who the fans want to see play. However, I don’t get the impression the Broncos’ brass dislikes Tebow. I get the sense the team is comfortable giving him an opportunity to run the offense.
Popular former Chiefs running back Ed Podolak is recovering from injuries suffered in an auto accident.
My take: Podolak was a tough player who was a fan favorite. Get well soon, sir.
Here’s a report that says the Raiders officially exercised its 2011 rights on linebacker Kamerion Wimbley.
My take: This move was simply paperwork. There was no way Oakland was going to let Wimbley walk. I wouldn’t be shocked if he was given a long-term deal at some point. Wimbley had nine sacks and is an important player in Oakland.
There are talks planned about a new stadium for the Chargers in San Diego.
My take: This is similar to the NFL labor talks. If there is communication, there is progress. So, these talks are significant.
