It was reported that the Oakland Raiders were trying to trade up to take Nevada quarterback Colin Kaepernick while New England was on the clock at No. 33.

It didn’t work out, but the Nevada quarterback will be headed to the Bay Area.

In a trade with the Denver Broncos, the San Francisco 49ers moved up to No. 36 to snare Kaepernick. If Oakland wants a quarterback in the second round, the only player is Arkansas’ Ryan Mallet.

Denver got No. 45, No. 108 (fourth round) and No. 141 (fifth round) from San Francisco. That is quite the load. The Broncos now have the No. 45 and No. 46 picks in the second round and they now entered the fourth and fifth rounds. Denver wants a lot of players so this trade makes sense.
