Wrapping a busy Monday in the AFC West on a day that Philip Rivers got paid and got paid big:

The Chargers cut cornerback Cletis Gordon. It is bit of a surprise. Gordon was given a second-round tender price this year. But the Chargers feel they are set at cornerback and the fleet Gordon wasn't progressing as well as the team hoped. It would not be a shock if Gordon were claimed via waiver.

Denver claimed defensive back Antwain Spann off waivers from Buffalo. He played for New England the past three years where new Denver coach Josh McDaniels was an assistant coach. Denver cut undrafted rookie receiver Travis Shelton.

The Raiders brought back linebacker Napoleon Harris and cut cornerback Ricky Manning Jr. Harris was brought in to help with Kirk Morrison out with an elbow injury. Morrison is expected back for the start of the regular season, so Harris may have trouble making time.

San Diego rookie Larry English is headed back on the practice field and he is expected to make his preseason debut this weekend.

It's being reported that Vince Redd was suspended by the NFL for four games. He was cut by the Chiefs on Monday.
