The Denver Broncos, who have been saddled by several player arrests in recent years, are dealing with the wrong side of the law again.
The Denver Post has reported kicker Matt Prater was arrested in a Denver suburb Aug. 2 for allegedly driving while intoxicated and fleeing the scene of an accident.
Prater, one of the better young kickers in the NFL, played Thursday night in Dallas. He could face league discipline because of the arrest.
UPDATE: The Broncos just released this statement on Prater’s arrest:
“Our organization is disappointed with the poor judgment shown by Matt Prater on Aug. 2. This matter, which was addressed with the team last week, continues to be thoroughly reviewed internally.”
