ENGLEWOOD, Co. -- One of John Fox’s jobs as an NFL coach is to get to know his players’ personalities and traits as well as their football abilities.

That’s the only reason Fox feels a tad behind because of the NFL lockout. Hired in January, Fox wasn’t able to truly be around his team until last last month. The idle time ate at him.

“It was the first time in a long time that I had a desk job,” Fox said. “I hated it.”

Now that he is back amongst his players, Fox is enjoying the interaction with his new charges.

“I want to know what they are like, what they are all about,” Fox said. “I missed being around them. You can catch up on the football stuff, but you want to know what type of guys you have.”

In nearly three weeks with his new players, Fox likes what he sees.

“They are good guys,” Fox said. “They work and they want to get better. That’s all you can ask.”
