It is currently unknown when Denver rookie starting right tackle Orlando Franklin will return to the team after the death of his younger brother. The team excused Franklin on Wednesday.

The Kansas City Chiefs are starting to turn to Jackie Battle to help ignite their running game in the aftermath of the season-ending injury to Jamaal Charles.

The San Diego Chargers are getting into the red zone at a terrific rate. They are scoring from inside the red zone at a terrible rate. That is a big reason the 3-1 Chargers haven’t been pounding inferior opponents.

An NFL.com columnist believes Chiefs coach Todd Haley needs to stop acting like a “maniac” on the sideline. Haley’s latest episode was a heated exchange with quarterback Matt Cassel in the Chiefs’ first win of the season on Sunday.

How bright of a future does Kansas City safety Eric Berry have? Well, he still tops Matt Williamson’s list of emerging safeties in an Insider piece, despite the fact that Berry was lost for the season with a knee injury in Week 1. So, there is hope for the future.
