I am on my way to Oakland for a "Monday Night Football" matchup between the Raiders and San Diego Chargers.
I’m just as fired up as fans of the Raiders and Chargers. It was a killer watching all of Sunday’s action on television in preparation for Monday night’s game.
I expect a good battle Monday night. Yes, the Chargers should win. But if the Raiders can put pressure on Philip Rivers and contain San Diego’s run game (which will not be easy), they will have a chance. The key for Oakland will be to start fast and keep the fans in the game. That was a problem for Oakland in 2006 against San Diego and in 2008 against Denver on Monday night games to open the season. The Raiders lost those two home games by a total of 68-14.
When I settle into the press box in Oakland, I will catch up with the news in Denver and Kansas City and give updates from Oakland. Talk to you soon.
