- The Broncos released their injury participation list for Wednesday’s practice as they prepare to play at Cincinnati on Sunday. Quarterbacks Kyle Orton (finger) and Chris Simms (ankle), running back Knowshon Moreno (knee), guard Chris Kuper (ankle) and receiver Jabar Gaffney (finger) were all limited in their participation. Still, Orton and Moreno are among those expected to try to play against the Bengals.
- The case against San Diego star linebacker Shawne Merriman is now being reviewed by the district attorney’s office. Merriman was arrested during the weekend for alleged battery and false imprisonment of a female acquaintance.
- In an MVP watch feature on ESPN.com, San Diego quarterback Philip Rivers starts at No. 5. That sounds about right. Rivers has to be considered a serious MVP candidate going into the season.
