  • The Chiefs are hanging tough in Baltimore. Brodie Croyle, who is playing for the injured Matt Cassel, is playing very efficiently.
  • Denver’s defense is playing very well. New defensive coordinator Mike Nolan is doing wonders with this group.
  • Newly acquired guard Ross Hochstein is playing for the injured Chris Kuper. Kuper has a high ankle sprain.
  • Kansas City’s defense is also doing a good job. If the Chiefs pull off the upset, it will be a huge start to the Scott Pioli and Todd Haley era.
  • Denver has had bad field position all game long.
  • Denver quarterback Kyle Orton is doing a decent job, despite having an injured index finger on his throwing hand.
  • Kansas City running back Larry Johnson is having a slow day. He has just 11 yards on six carries.
  • Denver rookie running back Knowshon Moreno departed the game with an apparent lower leg injury in the third quarter.
  • Denver coach Josh McDaniels has called receiver Jabar Gaffney one of the toughest people he’s ever coached. Gaffney is proving Sunday by playing despite breaking his thumb less than three weeks ago.
