Now that the Denver Broncos have been eliminated from the playoffs, it’s time to look ahead. Let’s take an early look at the Broncos’ draft needs:

Expected drafting spot: 25

Top draft needs: Cornerback, running back, safety, defensive line, quarterback.

Possible first-round picks: Alfonzo Dennard, CB, Nebraska; Fletcher Cox, DT, Mississippi State; Devon Still, DT, Penn State; Lamar Miller, RB, Miami.

Intangibles: Doesn’t everything start with Tim Tebow in Denver? The draft might not be any different. The Broncos are expected to roll with Tebow as their starter in 2012, but they could always throw a curveball and take a quarterback early. The more likely scenario is Denver will build its offense around Tebow. That means it could add another running back early. A Tebow-led offense must start with the ground game. A running back could be the team’s first choice even though Denver has some needs on defense.
