The Raiders have cut safety Hiram Eugene in a salary-cap move that was expected. Defensive tackle John Henderson and linebacker Kamerion Wimbley are both candidates to be cut as well, although Wimbley is open to a new deal to stay. The Raiders will be able to get under the salary cap by Tuesday with the goal of signing some free agents when the open market begins at 4 p.m. ET Saturday.
As expected, linebacker Aaron Curry was one of several players to secure his contract. Thus, he will be in Oakland in 2012.
In other AFC West news:
Denver tight end Virgil Green tweeted that he was suspended for four games by the NFL for taking treatment for ADHD before he received NFL permission. He tweeted he now has permission from the league and he apologized for the issue.
