SAN DIEGO -- Philip Rivers didn’t miss Vincent Jackson this time.
One play after Jackson snuck down the field by himself (Rivers hit tight end Antonio Gates for a short gain), Rivers hit Jackson for a 35-yard touchdown pass to cut Baltimore’s lead to 28-23 late in the third quarter. Jackson beat two defenders on the play. It came on third-and-18.
Rivers is having a big game. He has thrown for 333 yards and we still have a full quarter-plus to play. With the Chargers trialing, expect Rivers to throw often the rest of the game.
