Some late afternoon AFC West tidbits:

The Raiders are expected to bring a large contingent to the memorial service of Gene Upshaw in Washington, DC. He died last month of cancer. Before he was the executive director of the NFLPA, Upshaw was a Pro Football Hall of Fame guard for the Raiders.

Denver owner Pat Bowlen, who befriended Upshaw during his second career, will also be at the memorial service. Defensive back Domonique Foxworth, a member of the executive committee of the NFLPA, was supposed to fly with Bowlen to Washington. But with Denver trying to trade him, he is no longer going because he may have to go take a physical with another team in the next day or so.

The Broncos expect center Tom Nalen back soon, but Nalen may not play against Oakland. Casey Wiegmann will start in Nalen's absence.

Sorry Chiefs fans, Tom Brady says he's going to play against Kansas City on Sunday.
