ENGLEWOOD, Co. -- Some quick notes on the Denver Broncos ’ first minicamp practice, which is ongoing.

Guard Chris Kuper is still out, recuperating from a broken leg he suffered in Week 17. He is expected to be back for training camp. Tight end Julius Thomas is not practicing, either. He had an ankle issue last year, but he should be ready in time for camp.

As expected, kicker Matt Prater is not at minicamp. He has not signed his franchise tender, so he is technically not a hold out. It’s not a big deal the kicker is absent from camp on June 12. It will get figured out.

There is an interesting visitor at camp. Peyton Manning’s former offensive coordinator and confidant Tom Moore is here. Moore worked closely with Manning this offseason as he prepared to sign with a team.

Quinton Carter is back working with the first team defense at safety over Rahim Moore. The two will likely battle for the position all summer.

I will return with more later.
