The Chiefs made some roster moves as they try to find a way to spark a team that is 0-3.
Highlighting the day of change was the signing of tight end Leonard Pope. He was cut by Arizona this summer. Pope played for new Kansas City coach Todd Haley when Haley was the offensive coordinator of the Cardinals.
Pope could instantly get significant playing time with the Chiefs. Haley traditionally doesn’t throw the ball much to the tight end. But he is comfortable with Pope.
The Chiefs cut veteran linebacker Monty Beisel and cornerback Ricardo Colclough. Both players were in their first seasons with Kansas City and played in reserve roles.
The team signed tackle Chris Patrick to the practice squad. The team also released tight end Tom Crabtree from the practice squad.
