Jacksonville holdout running Maurice Jones-Drew is open to a trade, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
This story won‘t have legs, of course, until the Jaguars feel the same way. And, of course, since Schefter’ report has surfaced, I’ve received many question asking if Jones-Drew would fit in the AFC West. Let’s get it straight: A talent like Jones-Drew would fit anywhere.
But I’m not sure a trade to any of the AFC West teams would be feasible. Every team in the division besides Kansas City could use a strong backup. But Jones-Drew is a premier back. I’m not sure any of the teams in the division would feel the need to spend big (both in the form of trade compensation and a new contract for Jones-Drew) to make a deal if it gets to the point where the Jaguars entertain the idea.
