The Boston Herald reports former New England pass-rusher Andre Carter is not ready to return to the field. He was lost last season with a quadriceps injury. Carter worked out for the Raiders Tuesday and then he was off to see the Rams.
If the Raiders feel the same way, perhaps he could be an option down the road.

CSN Bay Area reports Oakland backup Matt Leinart was not taking snaps at practice Wednesday. He has a finger injury on his non-throwing hand. I could see Leinart being held back until the regular season. Don’t be surprised if No. 3 quarterback Terrelle Pryor plays the last quarter or so against Detroit after Carson Palmer is pulled Saturday.

Defensive lineman Curley Culp, who began his career in Kansas City, is a senior committee nominee for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Often, senior committee nominees are elected into the hall of fame. The final vote will be in February.
