Dwayne Bowe's readiness for Week 1 shouldn’t be a problem according to our AFC West pollsters.
We asked readers if they think Bowe will be ready to make a major impact Sept. 9 when the Chiefs open the season by hosting Atlanta. Bowe missed the entire offseason program and all of training camp with a holdout. He reported to the team Aug. 17. He started practicing in pads four days later and played some in the preseason game against Seattle last week.
Bowe’s biggest issues are getting in football shape and learning the system of new offensive coordinator Brian Daboll. Readers Bowe will be fine. As of 1:10 p.m. ET on Wednesday, 65 percent of the poll voters think Bowe will be ready once the regular season starts, while 35 percent do not think he will be ready.
I agree with the majority on this one. Bowe will have three weeks with the team and while more time would be nice, I think he will be able to catch up and not be lost against Atlanta.
