AFC West notes

October, 2, 2012
Oakland receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey was back to practice Tuesday for the Raiders during a bye-week workout. He missed the Denver game after suffering a concussion against Pittsburgh -- a hit that forced him to stay overnight at a hospital. Barring a setback, Heyward-Bey should be able to play Oct. 14 at Atlanta.
  • The Broncos signed linebacker Mike Mohamed, wide receiver Bert Reed and offensive tackle Darrion Weems to the practice squad and it cut guard Adam Grant from the squad.
  • The Chargers have announced they signed cornerback Chris Carr. It was first reported Monday. No corresponding move was announced. U-T San Diego reports kicker Nate Kaeding is “week-to-week” with a groin injury. Nick Novak has taken his place.
  • The agent of linebacker Bryan Kehl tweeted his client has signed with the Chiefs. The team has not announced it. The BYU product has bounced around the league.
