Recap: The Raiders’ season took another miserable turn Sunday as they lost at home to the 4-8 Browns. The Raiders (3-9) have lost five straight games and are currently on pace for the No. 3 pick in the draft. Oakland is assured of its first losing season since 2009. The Raiders went 8-8 the past two seasons.
Biggest area to fix: Scoring. The Raiders put up yards, but could not score much. Their final seven points came with a second left in the game. This team plays way too much in garbage time.
Biggest area to build on: Brandon Myers. The tight end had 14 catches for 130 yards and tied the team record for receptions in a game. Myers deserves a lot of credit for taking the next step in his career. This is one position the Raiders don’t need to worry about.
What to watch for: Oakland hosts AFC West champion Denver Broncos on Thursday. Oakland coach Dennis Allen left the team Sunday night to be with his seriously ill father in Texas. Allen hopes to return to the team Wednesday. Offensive coordinator Greg Knapp is in charge of the team early in the week.
