The Chargers will need Cooper against Denver. He has 39 tackles. San Diego defensive lineman Travis Johnson is practicing and he looks like he is ready to return from a groin injury.
Denver running back Correll Buckhalter practiced fully again Friday and he looks like he will play Monday barring a setback. He didn’t play last week with an ankle injury.
Oakland owner Al Davis is preaching patience with quarterback JaMarcus Russell. Davis points out several successful NFL quarterbacks who struggled early before starring. The problem is, the Raiders preached patience regarding Russell before this season. It is time for him to start producing. It’s simple as that.
Kansas City tackle Branden Albert didn’t practice again Friday with an ankle injury and his playing status Sunday at Washington is in jeopardy.
Oakland receiver Chaz Schilens is questionable to play Sunday against Philadelphia after missing eight weeks with a broken foot. He has expressed doubt that he will be ready.
