Many candidates will emerge during Kansas City's and San Diego's search for a coach. We will review and analyze them all. I can go on and on right now about the list of usual suspects.
But here's one person I think both teams should focus on: Bruce Arians.
I think he is a jewel of a candidate. Candidates like Arians just don’t come up every year. He has had on-the-job head-coaching training and he has been a raving success. Arians is part of the NFL feel-good story in Indianapolis. He took over early in the season and was the interim head coach when Chuck Pagano underwent treatment for leukemia.
Arians, the Colts’ offensive coordinator, took over in the toughest of circumstances and helped lead the Colts to a playoff berth.
San Diego could have an edge here. The Chargers' defensive coordinator is John Pagano, the younger brother of Chuck Pagano. The Chargers like Pagano a lot.\
Both teams need to look for an offensive-minded coach because that’s where they are weakest. Both teams should be able to afford Arians as well.
Arians deserves to be a head coach and I think he fits both the Chargers and the Chiefs.
