With the San Diego Chargers’ season over, let’s take an early look at where the team may be heading in the draft.
First pick: No. 11
Top draft needs: Tackle, guard, receiver, cornerback.
Possible first-round picks: Michigan left tackle Taylor Lewan, Central Michigan left tackle Eric Fisher, North Carolina guard Jonathan Cooper, Tennessee receiver Cordarrelle Patterson, Alabama cornerback Dee Milliner.
Intangibles: The Chargers are undergoing a facelift. They are hiring a new general manager and a new coach. So philosophies will be changing. Still, their needs are their needs, and Chargers must upgrade the offense, especially on the line. Those upgrades will first come in free agency and then in the draft.
