The 2013 season will be vital for Oakland running back Darren McFadden. It is the final year of his contract.
If McFadden continues to get hurt and struggle like he did in 2012, Oakland will likely move on. But McFadden can be a top NFL back and if he shows that, the Raiders will try to keep him.
Oakland showed it wants McFadden to succeed by hiring Greg Olson to be its offensive coordinator. He believes in the power-running attack that McFadden thrived in prior to running in Greg Knapp’s zone-blocking scheme in 2012.
