Denver has a bye this week.

Kansas City: Mike Brown, safety: The former Chicago star is helping the Chiefs. He is a leader off the field and is making an impact on it. He is a favorite of coach Todd Haley. Brown is a hard hitter and a playmaker. If the Chiefs have a chance to win their second straight game, against visiting San Diego, Brown must have a big game.

Oakland: Nnamdi Asomugha, cornerback: Asomugha missed most of the Raiders’ impressive victory over the Eagles on Sunday with an eye injury. He is expected to be fine for Sunday’s game against the visiting Jets. The Raiders are a much better team with Asomugha. If Oakland can continue its defensive resurgence Sunday with Asomugha on the field, they could be in business.

San Diego: LaDainian Tomlinson, running back: Tomlinson had his best game of the season in a loss to Denver on Sunday. He had 70 yards on 18 carries. He moved well. Let’s see if Tomlinson can build on the momentum Sunday at Kansas City.
