Here are the AFC West leaders in some key statistical categories after Week 6:

Passing yards
  • Player: Philip Rivers, San Diego.
  • Yards: 1,519
  • What does it mean: Rivers is leading Denver’s Kyle Orton by 54 yards for the division lead. Orton has played six games, while Rivers has played five.
Rushing yards
  • Player: Knowshon Moreno, Denver
  • Yards: 381
  • What does it mean: Moreno could get in the rookie of the year mix.
Receiving
Tackles
  • Player: Kirk Morrison, Oakland
  • Tackles: 58
  • What does it mean: Morrison is a consistent tackler. He always ends up with good numbers.
Sacks
  • Player: Elvis Dumervil, Denver
  • Sacks: 10
  • What does it mean: Dumervil is the NFL leader in sacks.
Interceptions
  • Player: Michael Huff, Oakland
  • Interceptions: 3
  • What does it mean: Huff hasn’t had an interception in the past four games after a big start to the season.
