The Denver Broncos announced that the AFC has named receiver/returner Eddie Royal the special teams player of the week.
Really, who else would it be?
Royal was the star of Denver’s 34-23 win at San Diego on Monday night. He returned a kickoff 93 yards in the first quarter for a touchdown. He added a 71-yard punt for a touchdown in the second quarter.
It was the sixth time since the merger in 1970 that a player returned both a kick and a punt for a touchdown. So, this was a slam-dunk honor for Royal.
