The Chiefs looked at two veteran defensive tackles Tuesday.

The team worked out Shaun Smith and Terdell Sands. According to a source close to the situation, the Chiefs may not be close to making a decision to bring in a defensive tackle and they were simply doing some bye-week looking.

Smith is a talented, but troubled player who had been shipped out of both Cleveland and Detroit this season. Sands has been cut by Oakland and New England in recent months. Sands was originally a seventh-round draft pick of the Chiefs in 2001.
