Denver: Knowshon Moreno, running back: The Broncos’ rookie running back has to bounce back from a poor game against Baltimore. Moreno couldn’t get anything going (just like the rest of the Denver offense) and lost a fumble. Moreno has been good as a rookie, but he has some fumbling issues. He needs to rebound against Pittsburgh.
Kansas City: Jamaal Charles, running back: This is Charles’ chance to show the Chiefs that he can be a factor for them. Larry Johnson is out for the game after a team-sanctioned suspension. Charles can take away carries from the struggling Johnson the rest of the season if he plays well against the Jaguars.
Oakland has a bye.
San Diego: Philip Rivers, quarterback: All eyes will be on Rivers when the Chargers visit the New York Giants and Eli Manning. Rivers and Manning, of course, will forever be connected as a result of their 2004 draft day trade. So, Rivers and Manning will be compared closely as they start against each other for the first time in their careers. Rivers is playing very well and he should be up to the challenge.
