Defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey, the No. 5 overall pick, remains the highest remaining unsigned draft choice. Therefore, Dorsey will be the most watched draft pick as the signings start to pour in. The Chiefs are set to report to camp in River Falls, Wis., Thursday and start practicing Friday.
Will Dorsey be there on time?
We'll see. The team and his agent, Joel Segal, have been talking for several weeks and both sides believe a break-through could come soon. Again, these things can drag out. Both Chiefs general manager Carl Peterson and Segal are good at what they do, so it will be interesting how this unfolds.
With No. 6 pick Vernon Gholston unsigned with the Jets, it could be a chance for everyone playing a waiting game for these two picks.
However, as it unfolds, it is vital for Dorsey, a star from LSU, to get to camp. The Chiefs want him to be an instant centerpiece to their rebuilt defense and he has a chance to make a major impact as a rookie.
