We are giving the also rans of the AFC West some love this weekend as I headed to Oakland for the Chiefs-Raiders game.
While neither team (Kansas City is 1-7 and Oakland is 2-6) is likely to get back into the division hunt, there are many storylines to follow with these two teams and frankly, it’s always nice to see a division game.
Most notably, we’ll be looking to see if Oakland quarterback JaMarcus Russell can get out of his season-long funk and to see how Kansas City adjust to life after Larry Johnson. Johnson was cut Monday.
I will also be keeping tabs on San Diego’s home game against Philadelphia and Denver’s road game at Washington.
Please check back for pre-, in- and post-game news and analysis.
