RB Ryan Mathews returns to practice

October, 11, 2013
SAN DIEGO -- The San Diego Chargers got some good news, with running back Ryan Mathews returning to practice on Friday.

Mathews missed Thursday’s practice because of a concussion suffered against Oakland last week. But on Friday, he was a full participant.

Also returning to practice as a limited participant after missing Thursday’s workout was starting right tackle D.J. Fluker.

Players who did not practice included outside linebacker Jarret Johnson, offensive guard Chad Rinehart (toe), cornerback Richard Marshall (groin) and middle linebacker Donald Butler (groin).

San Diego coach Mike McCoy said Butler’s groin flared up again, so he gave Butler a day off to rest the nagging injury. Butler missed the Tennessee game a few weeks ago because of the injury.

Full participants for the Chargers included cornerback Shareece Wright (hamstring), linebacker Manti Te’o (foot), right guard Jeromey Clary (clavicle), left tackle King Dunlap (concussion), offensive lineman Rich Ohrnberger (groin) and cornerback Johnny Patrick (chest).
