English suffered the injury in last week’s loss against Denver while sacking Peyton Manning. The 27-year-old pro is in the final year of his rookie deal, and now will enter free agency in 2014 with lingering concerns about his health.
In his fifth year out of Northern Illinois, English appeared in nine games this season, totaling 18 tackles and 2.5 sacks. For his career, English recorded 91 tackles and 11 sacks for the Chargers.
With the vacant roster spot, the Chargers signed linebacker Adrian Robinson, who worked out for the team last month. At 6-1 and 250 pounds, the Temple University product appeared in six games for Denver this season, finishing with a tackle on defense and two stops on special teams.
The San Diego Chargers announced a couple rosters moves on Tuesday. The team placed outside linebacker Larry English on the injured reserve list with a season-ending biceps injury.
