Four players to watch

Here are players from each AFC West team to keep an eye on in Week 14:

Denver RB Correll Buckhalter: If Buckhalter can run against Indianapolis the way he did against Kansas City last Sunday, Denver can stay in the game. Buckhalter had 113 yards on 12 carries. He busted several impressive runs. Buckhalter is a fine change-of-pace complement for Knowshon Moreno. If Buckhalter is running well, the Colts could be off-balanced defensively.

Kansas City CB Brandon Flowers: The second-year cornerback is a very good player who has been making plays all season. Flowers will be difficult to pass against versus the Bills on Sunday. Flowers is a solid coverage corner who broke up a couple of potential big pass plays on Sunday against Denver. Flowers could be a cornerstone defender for Kansas City down the road.

Oakland WR Louis Murphy: The rookie played a major role in Oakland’s upset win over Pittsburgh and expect him to be targeted by quarterback Bruce Gradkowski often against Washington. Murphy caught two touchdown passes, including the game-winner in the final seconds of the fourth quarter against the Steelers. The fourth-round pick is becoming one of Oakland’s best players.

San Diego LB Stephen Cooper: The Chargers need Cooper to be the tackle machine he was early in the season. Cooper is an active player who is an emotional leader of San Diego’s defense. But his production has slipped of late. He needs to come up big at Dallas.
